Man caught for selling fake gold conch

RAIPUR, 

Mana Police on Monday apprehended the man accused of duping Rs 16.50 lakh by selling a fake gold conch to a Mana resident family two months ago. Applicant Dijendra Vishwas (40), resident of Mana Camp, had reported at local police station that one Sushanto Sardar (38) showed him a conch apparently made of gold. Since Sardar was a goldsmith, he gave a small piece of the conch to Vishwas.

The piece was real gold. And then they negotiated the price for complete conch at Rs 16.50 lakhs. Vishwas gave him the money for another conch, which also appeared to be made of gold. But, when Vishwas cut the conch, it turned out to be brass. A FIR was registered with the Mana Police Station two months ago and the accused Sushanto Sardar was finally brought to book. Police confiscated a Bolero car worth
Rs 8 lakh that the accused had purchased of the money got from selling fake gold conch.
