Police Patils stage dharna to press for pending demands

Police Patils attached to Vidarbha Police Patil Kalyankari Sangh staged dharna near the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Samvidhan Chowk, on Wednesday to press their pending demands, particularly increasing honorarium.

Dipak Paliwar, President of the sangh, Suryabhan More, Working President, Motiram Pawar, Organising Secretary, and Bhagwant Gomkale, Secretary, led the members, who raised
slogans in support of their demands. Addressing the agitators, Paliwal said that the Police Patils were ‘forced’ to resort to agitation as the authorities concerned failed to pay heed towards grievances of Police Patils. He hinted that the sangh would continue the agitation till the demands are conceded.

The demands included: Filling up of vacant posts on priority basis, welfare fund, pension, providing jobs to wards, travelling allowance etc.

The dharna programme bagan at 10 am and concluded at 4 pm. Later, a deputation met Sachin Kurve, Collector, and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister. Kurve assured that he would forward the memorandum to the CM and decided to convene a meeting of LDC on Thursday in his office at 10.30 am in order to solve grievances on his level. Some representatives of sangh would also attend meeting.

Pramod Mehar, Pintu Nimbalkar, Arun Kadu, Rakshana Gajbhiye, Seema Kalamkar, Chhaya Wahane, Kalpana Wasnik, Pratpalika Lanjewar, Vandana Bhurre, Priti Lanjewar, Sujata Dhoke, Avantika Bagde, Purnima Thakre, Mamata Meshram, Sheshrao Kakde and others took active part in the dharna.
