SECR gets whopping Rs 5,141 crore for development projects

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Kaushal Kishore informed media persons about the budget grants worth Rs 5,141 crore sanctioned for South East Central Railway during recent Railway Budget declared by Finance Minister. The fund sanctioned is about 14 percent higher than budget of previous year.

Addressing the media persons DRM Kaushal Kishore and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Tanmay Mukhopadhyay gave a Power Point Presentation of the rail budget. It includes sanctions of Rs 2,201 crore for new lines which includes constructions of new railway line of 11 Kilometres between Chirimiri-Nagpur Halt worth Rs 114 crores. To improve rail traffic facilities works for doubling of by-pass lines, intermediate block signalling, conversion to twin single line and running line, conversion to single block station, additional full length line, Loop line with extension of bridge, extension of line with passenger platform, provision of Shunt signal, automatic signalling, shifting and providing new goods shed Rs 195 crores have been sanctioned. Six new railway flyovers will be constructed at Urkura, Sarona, Gondia, Kalumna, Dadhapara-Uslapur and Anuppur to make the movement of trains faster.

New Foot Over Bridge (FOB) with ramp and six escalators will be constructed at Raipur railway station. Provision of FOB at Tilda, Siliyari station. Provision of installation of 18 CCTV cameras at parcel officer Raipur, 12 at Durg total of 30 cameras have been sanctioned to keep transparency in parcel office. Extension of new platform number seven towards Gudhiyari end will be done at cost of Rs. 1827.53 lakh, in which full length train of 24 coach can be accommodated on down line. Provision of shunt signal facility at East and West end of Raipur for facilitating shunting movement has been sanctioned. Extension of shunting neck at Raipur west end with full OHE to facilitate stabling of empty rake is sanctioned.

Improvement of Bhilai Power House station as Adarsh station with provision of FOB, escalator, Cloack room, etc., a sum of Rs 865.25 lakh is sanctioned. Construction of an additional full length line at Durg worth Rs 867.76 is sanctioned. Approval for replacement of old corroded 200 mm diameter CI main pipeline with 200 mm diameter DI pipe from filter house to service road to RCC Over Head Tank no. 2 and replacement of old corroded branch and service pipeline at WRS colony was given in budget. Replacement of AAA Catenary by Copper Catenary and improvement in reliability of OHE worth Rs 839.03 lakh was approved in budget.
