Staff Reporter,

Ready to wait for court verdict, says RSS

THERE is little doubt in anyone’s mind about construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as it’s clear no other structure can come-up at the spot, asserted Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarkaryavah Bhaiyyaji Joshi here on Sunday. Revealing RSS stance on the Mandir issue, Joshi made it clear that the organisation is going to wait for outcome of court’s verdict.

As the court is also seized of the issue relating to title of the land, the process of construction of Ram Temple would have to go through the defined process as well, Joshi further stated.

The RSS Sarkaryavah, while addressing a press conference on sidelines of RSS’s Pratinidhi Sabha that concluded on Sunday at Reshimbagh, said there is no point in adding seriousness to ongoing talks between the two communities to resolve the issue out of court. It is just impossible to bring all onboard for one’s point of view and it’s difficult to predict outcome of current efforts, though RSS will welcome unanimity on the matter. He was responding to query about RSS views on current efforts started by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to resolve the deadlock on Ram Madir issue.

‘Fair criticism by Parivar affiliates welcome’: Asked about the increased criticism about Government’s failure by various affiliates of Sangh Parivar, Joshi said we allow each of the organisation to act as per its mandate. But this freedom comes with a rider that fault-finding exercise must stick to issues, means it must not be personalised, and ultimately the mission of the organisation to serve the society must not be forgotten.

Elaborating the answer to query on Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders taking on the Central Government, the RSS Sarkaryavah cited example of a family where it is not necessary that two brothers would hold similar views. Just like it, this criticism of Government is nothing but each one having different take but this does not mean rift among the persons.

He said even within BJP there are sometimes views that despite the party being in Government the desired goals have not been achieved. So in a way Joshi sided with Government, saying there are sometimes compulsion and it takes time for all the things to deliver.

Pro-people policies to benefit BJP in 2019: Joshi also rubbed off the perception about RSS being the reason for electoral success of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sangh’s belief is that each one is responsible for his success or failure. Same holds true for RSS also which has grown because of hard work put in by its swayamsevaks and not because of BJP as is generally talked about. RSS had already grown quite big in 2014 when BJP swept to power at Centre, he pointed out.
And as to outcome of 2019 general elections, RSS Sarkaryavah hoped that given the good work done by BJP-led Government the masses would definitely vote it back to power as people will definitely stand by the BJP. While giving full marks to BJP for its spectacular success in 2014 polls and attributing it to positive atmosphere of that time in the country, Joshi refused to speculate while asking scribes to patiently wait for future events to unfold at their own time.

Find practical solution to end farmers’ woes: Expressing deep concern about the ongoing agitation by farmers, the RSS Sarkaryavah made it abundantly clear that Government should be extremely sensitive towards the farm issues and demands of the farmers. Especially the demands for fair price to farm produce needs to be addressed in the right earnest, he stated. But at the same time Joshi said farmers should also change their mindset and take into account farm policy and Government must find ways to provide proper remuneration to farmers for their produce, he stated while reiterating line advocated by RSS chief in his Vijayadashmi address.

Condemns statue vandalising spree: Joshi also condemned incidents like vandalising Lenin’s statue or damage bust of Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee and reminded that RSS in past had even condemned attacks on churches and labelled those engaged in such acts as anti-social elements. On some occasions of confusion and conflict, anti-social elements become active and tend to carry out such acts, he said while adding a rider that truth behind recent incident would come out very soon. On the question about demand of separate religion by Lingayat community, Joshi said RSS rejects the idea as in our country there could be different sect, beliefs on local issues. All sects have one common thread and RSS wants to resolve any differences at upper level from within.

Tighten regulation to prevent frauds: Replying to another question on the banking scams and the overall economic scenario, Joshi said these financial irregularities indicate that there are loopholes in the system.

Such banking frauds are danger to the country’s economy while strongly advocating to put in place fool-proof mechanism by financial institutions to prevent recurrence of such incidents, he stated. At the outset in his statement, the Sarkaryavah said the RSS’s Pratinidhi Sabha took stock of the current situation and deliberated on steps needed for future growth. As of now we are satisfied with our achievements, it is no mean achievement that within 92-years RSS has managed to reach 40,000 shakhas, urban as well as rural.

RSS’s Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya and Sah Prachar Pramukh Narendra Kumar were also present at the press conference.
