Alexis Multispecialty Hospital holds symposium on Colorectal cancer

ALEXIS Multispecialty Hospital hosted a symposium on Colorectal Cancer at Hotel Tuli Imperial. The symposium was a first edition of clinical session by the doctors from USA. Globally, Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer, making up about 10 per cent of all cases. In 2012, there were 1.4 million new cases and 6,94,000 deaths from the disease.


Alexis Multispeciality Hospital hosted Dr Adil Daud, Prof Haematology–Oncology, Director–Melanoma Programme, University of California, San Francisco, USA and Dr Robert S Warren, Chief – Surgical Oncology, University of California, San Francisco, USA who were the keynote speakers.


Dr Adil Daud spoke on the medical management perspective of recent advances in diagnosis and management of colorectal cancer. Dr Robert S. Warren took to the surgical management perspective. A case based panel discussion on the diagnosis, evaluation and management of colorectal cancer was held.


Dr Abhijit Deshmukh, Gastroenterologist, Dr Amol Dongre, Medical Oncologist, Dr Suraj Agrawal, Onco Surgeon, Dr Chandani Hotwani, Radiation Oncologist and Dr Prakash Jain, General Surgeon along with Dr Mahesh Deshmukh, Histopathologist and Dr Niraj Kanchankar, Radiologist spoke on the occasion.
