Lethargic working of security department is vulnerable to maintain law and order arrangements in sensitive estate area of Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK). Factory administration already instructed the Security Department for police verification of suspected elements living in factory quarters and illegal encroachments in OFK Estate but concrete measures are yet to be taken in this regard.
Even after police verification of some of the residents having criminal background and identification of illegal structures on defence land the security department is yet to take action to check the menace.

OFK’s Senior General Manager Arvind Kumar Agarwal, talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that the being a sensitive defence establishment, existence of anti-social elements in its estate area is vulnerable for security measures. Security Department has been directed to ensure police verification of anti-social elements and evacuating factory quarters from their possession. OFK’s Senior Security Officer Colonel Amitabh Harshkote, when contacted, refused to providing any information about the police verification of suspicious elements and action taken against anti-social elements living in the estate area.

Surprisingly, the Security Department has failed in evacuating the servant quarters from accused of a rape incident while a double storey encroachment was removed intervening night as a secret operation in Westland area on the initiative of OFK administration with the help of Police Department. Security Department has recently sent a letter to the Commandant of
SQAE for ensuring evacuation of a servant quarter from an anti-social element. Sources charged that the security department is responsible for maintaining law and order arrangement in the estate area but its patrolling teams are failed in checking increasing number of encroachments and existence of anti-social elements while illegal trade of liquor is flourishing in the estate area.
