Rs 56.64 crore ayed for lakes and ponds’ conservation in 21 cities

Cabinet has approved a scheme costing Rs 56.64 crore for conservation and development of lakes and ponds in 21 cities. These cities include Maihar, Multai, Khurai, Babai, Sailana, Morena, Itarsi, Bada Malhera, Jabalpur, Tikamgarh, Kasravad, Dhuvara, Makdon, Bijawar, Bhainsdehi, Baihar, Bukswaha, Umaria, Mandla, Dekan and Barghat. Meanwhile, Cabinet has also decided to send recommendation to Governor for approval to constitute Nagar Parishad Rannod (district Shivpuri) by relaxing population criteria. Besides, the Cabinet has give an approval of Rs 80 crore by approving the new MLA Rest House construction programme, under the Capital Project Administration, Bhopal, for the year 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.

Similarly, the Cabinet has given an approval of Rs 20 crore for the year 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20 under the policy for development of parks, to protect open areas from encroachment and beautification of areas under the Capital Project Administration.Decision concerning Horticulture and Food Processing Department: The Cabinet has given permission for continuation of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY), Badi (Kitchen Garden) Yojana, Masala Kshetra Vistaar Yojana, Sabzi Kshetra Vistaar Yojana and Phal Podh-Ropan Yojana being implemented under the 12th five year plan for the year 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.

Approval for construction of warehouse and godown for EVM and VVPT: According to the directives of the Election Commission of India, the cabinet has given its consent for construction of total 53 warehouse/godown, one at each district for secure custody of electronic voting machines (EVM), voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPT) and one additional for Indore district besides one at Bhopal headquarters level for repair of the machines
through Project Director, Public Works Department within two years and to the administrative department for mutually modification as per the convenience of the districts.
