Youth held with Hawala money of Rs 8.50 lakh

Shahjehanabad police have arrested a youth along with Hawala sum of Rs 8.50 lakh from Om Nagar area late on Monday night. Accused was going to handover the consignment of currency to some other person in Bairagarh when he was chased and arrested by alert cops. ASI Kamesh Kumar of Shahjehanabad police station informed that there was a specific input from an informer that a youth is going to deliver the Hawala money. On the basis of information, a trap was laid and when the suspected youth came to fore in Om Nagar at 10.30 pm on Monday night, cops tried to stop him. Seeing the cops, accused started to run away from scene on his two-wheeler. However, alert police officials chased and arrested him. Accused identified himself as Jaiprakash Kingrani (31), son of Chunni Lal. He resides in Idgah Hills areas. Huge cash of Rs 8.50 lakh was confiscated from the dickey of his two-wheeler. “Accused was going to deliver the collected amount to Bairagarh resident Sunny. Investigation is underway into the case,” said Investigation Officer ASI Kamesh Kumar.)
