LIC workers’ strike a grand success

One of the leading unions in Life Insurance Corporation of India having 93 per cent representation National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India and Federation of LIC Class 1 Officers Association on Wednesday gave a strike call during lunch hour. The members of the unions strike call which was on national level was 100 per cent success as their was participation from all the members. The operations of LIC in the country was paralysed for some hours as employees joined the strike.


Anil Dhokpande, Regional General Secretary of Nagpur Division LIC Workers Union while addressing the members thanked them for making the strike 100 per cent success. He said, LIC management was adopting anti-workers policy. Eight months have passed after the announcement of the revised wages but the LIC management is hoodwinking and is not recruiting people. The management is not giving benefit to employees who had had not availed the Government’s 1995 Pension Scheme.


He called upon the members of the union to intensify agitation against the anti-workers policy of the management. The members shouted slogans against the management in the premises of the LIC Divisional Office.


Union leaders Ramesh Patne, T K Chakravarty, Arun Sonkusare, Rajesh Satija, Dipak Moghe, Vinay Kusare, Dhanraj Dongre and others in their respective speeches gave call for unity to fight against injustice.


They demanded that all the dues of the revised wage agreement should be given from August 1, 2017, one option for pension should be given, start recruitment process, five day week should be introduced etc. Shiva Nimje, Milindkumar, Y R Rao, Rajesh Vishvakarma, Neha Mote, Narendra Dhawale, Abhay Patne, Naresh Adchul, R D Jadhav and other took extra efforts to make the strike grand success.
