‘14th convocation of JNAU the first where Governor will bless students’

“THE 14th convocation of the Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNAU) will be the first event in the history of University when Matrashakti as chief guest, Governor Anandiben Patel will bless the students and honour them with Gold Medal, Cash Prize and Degrees to the students of Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctorate Degree programmes,” said Vice Chancellor, Professor Pradeep Kumar Bisen while addressing the press conference held at first Bio Fertilizer Production Centre of country, on Monday. The convocation will be organised on April 12 from 11.30 am onwards at the Convocation Hall of College of Agriculture Jabalpur. Minister of State for Public Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh , Sharad Jain would be special guest while Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, Deputy Director General (Agriculture Education), Dr Narendra Singh Rathor would deliver Convocation Address.


In the 14th convocation a very respected personality in the field of Agriculture Research, Education and Extension, former Director of ICAR, Padam Bhushan Dr R S Paroda would be decorated with Doctor of Science by JNAU.
On this occasion Vice Chancellor of Veterinary University, Professor PD Joyal, RDU Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kapil Deo Mishra, Medical University, Vice Chancellor, Dr R S Sharma would be specially present. Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Dr P K Mishra further added that the report on progress of JNAU will be presented by JNAU Vice Chancellor, Professor Pradeep Kumar Bisen. Another first in the history of JNAU would be change in uniform of convocation in five decades of JNAU. From this year as per direction the Ministry of Higher Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh the Indian Style Uniform will grace the occasion. In this convocation a total of 693 students would be honoured with Degree while outstanding 10 students would get cash prize and Gold medals.


The Gold Medal winners are Manoj Kumar Patel, BSC Ag Waraseoni, Balaghat and Late Pt Shrikant Mishra cash prize of Rs 3,000 will be given along with JNAU Pensioner Council Talent Cash Prize of Rs 15,000. Shatakshi Mishra B.Sc Ag would get one Dr. RL Gupta Memorial Gold Medal and JNAU PC Talent Cash Prize Rs 10,000 and Arpana Dubey B.Tech. College of Agricultural Engineering would be honoured with University Gold Medal.Vice Chancellor, Professor Pradeep Kumar Bisen added that the Convocation is an important event for the university where it introduces its students in service of nation with high hopes. It is celebration of hard work on studies and recognition of brilliance of students. to make the event special the University team of Directors, Deans, Head of Department, Scientists and Students are making preparations of war footings.
