Agreement signed between RSCL and Axis Bank for Raipur City Smart Payment System

RAIPUR

Raipur Smart City Limited (RSCL) signed an agreement for ‘Raipur City Smart Payment System’with Axis bank on Monday. Based on PPP model for a duration of 5 years, it includes the implementation of Open Loop based contactless Smart Card, City Mobile App, Mobile Wallet and Portal with an aim to offer citizens a common platform of payment facility which would enable them to pay for any services within the city. The system is envisaged to bring about an enormous ease to citizens by way of paying electronically using a smart card for all perceivable services including city transport, municipal services, entertainment and amusement activities, parking, bill payments, utility payments etc. Post implementation of the project, any individual can connect with the zone offices or the concerned bank to get the Smart Card. To add, Axis bank will rope in about hundred shopkeepers to issue the smart cards in order to reach the larger group of citizens. The agreement targets at distributing about 2 lakh smart cards in the next five years. The app
will encompass more than55 citizen services. RSCL Chief Executive officer (CEO) & Managing Director (MD) Rajat Bansal said, “The system is aimed to bring about an enormous ease to citizens by way of paying electronically using a smart card for all perceivable services including city transport, municipal services, entertainment and amusement activities, parking, bill payments, utility payments etc.” The agreement was signed between Rajat Bansal and Axis Bank Executive Vice President Debarchan Mishra. Members of Program Management Consultants- PwC were also present during signing of the agreement.
