Man arrested for killing paternal uncle

Police arrested a man on charges of murdering his paternal uncle at Karondiya Tola of village Bandi under jurisdiction of Dhanpuri police station area.It may be mentioned that on March 17, accused Santosh Baiga, son of Premlal Baiga, resident of Karondiya Kala Bandi Khurd killed his uncle Chotelal (36), son of Chiddu Baiga, with an axe and then fled from the spot. This incident has created sensation in the area.
Police registered the case and started investigation. Police also launch manhunt to nab the culprit but was empty-handed. Police raided at his relative’s places but finally on the tip off from an informer, police arrested the accused.Police informed that since many days they were getting inputs of accused spotted at pond, jungle and in neighbouring area. Police were acting on each input but could not find the accused.


Then police received inputs from informer that accused Santosh Baiga was sitting at Anuppur railway station to catch train to Bilaspur. SHO Satish Dwivedi, along with his team, immediately reached police station and caught the accused. On interrogation, accused informed police that he used axe to kill his uncle and then dumped the murder weapon in well of fellow village Rampal. Then police pressed some villagers into work and then murder weapon was found from the well.
The accused informed police that after committing the crime he was hiding at Sagar, Damoh, Katni and Jabalpur. He informed police that his uncle was allotted house under Indira Awas Yojna but he was staying at the old house. Accused wanted that his uncle should vacate the old house so that he can stay there. But his uncle was not listening to him so he killed him. The team which arrested the accused included TI Satish Dwivedi, SI BN Prajapati, , SI LB Tiwari, Head Constable Rameshwar Pandey, Rajendra Tiwari, Constable Harpal, Gyanendra, Satish, Jevenda Krishna Shankar Ranjeet, Thakurdas, Head Constable Clement Jaan, ASO Sheikh Jaan.
