RMC razes Hotel Ritu Fort

The three storied Hotel Ritu Fort that was illegally built and obstruction the bypass road construction work was demolished on Monday by the demolition squad of BMC. Both the corporation and police administration had to face several hurdles to demolish the three storied hotel situated at Nandini Road, Power House Bhilai. To demolish the building the BMC squad had to call Chain Mounting Machine and after struggling for six hours the hotel building could be finally demolished. During the operation a ham like situation occurred from Nandini Raod to Power House Square. Keeping in view the security and safety measure the team of Chhouni Police was deputed in the area and the traffic was diverted in one way. Present during the drive were Bhilai Nagar Tahsildar, Ashwani Sharma, Sanjay Sharma from Zone-4, Assistant Revenue Inspector, Harcharan Singh Arora, BK Samuel and others.

Here it may be mentioned that the owner of Hotel Ritu Fort have challenged the notice of BMC in High Court terming it to be private property. But later on corporation proved that it was government land and has been encroached by the hotel owner and asked permission for its demolition that was granted by the court. As per the order of the court BMC Commissioner issued a notice to the owner on Saturday and asked to vacate the property till Monday. After receiving the notice the owner vacated the hotel.
