56 cows die under suspicious circumstances in Telangana

GUNTUR,

IN a tragic incident, 56 cows died, while several fell-ill seriously after they had eaten grass at a field in Daida village of Gurajala Mandal in this district on Monday.


A farmer, belongs to Nereducharla village of Nalgonda district in Telangana took as many as 100 cows for grazing to the field. While they were eating grass at the field, 56 of them collapses and died. Some of the cows were battling for life. A pathetic scene was witnessed as the bodies of cows laid elsewhere in the field.


The animal husbandry officials and veterinary doctors examined the field to ascertain whether pesticide was sprinkled on the grass before the crows eaten the grass. The doctors collected samples of weeds and grass at the field, which the deceased cows eaten, for examination to find out whether weeds were contained poisonous substance. Meanwhile, the farmer lamented that the dead cows was worth Rs.10 lakh.
