RMC slaps fine on ice factory, juice stalls for flouting norms

Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) slapped fines on an ice
factory and sugarcane juice stalls for flouting sanitation norms on Tuesday. Zone -7 Health Department officials conducted a surprise inspection in an ice factory ‘Raj ice factory.’ Inspection was part of the joint efforts being taken to curb the outbreak of jaundice in the City. Zone-7 officials found filthy conditions in the ice factory, following which they fined the factory owner with Rs 5000. On the same day, Zone-7 officials also penalised a Paan shop ‘Jai Santoshi Paan Bhandar’ at Tatyapara Chowk by Rs 1000 for littering around the shop. Likewise, an eatery Rohit Nashta Centre was fined Rs 500 at Maulana Abdul Rauf Ward.

One of biggest fines of the day was imposed on a shopkeeper at Zone-1, where officials handed over a fine of Rs 3000 on the shopkeeper for dumping garbage on road. He was also warned not to repeat the same or the fine would be doubled next time. At Zone-5, a sugar cane juice cart was fined Rs 500 whereas Zone-6 officials caught one man defecating in the open and recovered Rs 100 as penalty. Lastly, they also imposed Rs 1000 fine on another citizen for burning the garbage in open.
