‘Sagda-Lamhetaghat-Bhedaghat road will prove milestone in Jabalpur’s growth’

“CONSTRUCTION of Sagda-Lamhetaghat-Bhedaghat road will pave way for promotion of tourism and prove a milestone to develop Jabalpur as a tourist hub on world map. The Central Government has sanctioned a huge budget of around Rs 5,000 crore for overall development of the district, while development works have gained pace under leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan,” said Member of Parliament and Chief Whip of Bharatiya Janata Party in Lok Sabha Rakesh Singh. MP Rakesh Singh was addressing the gathering after inauguration of Sagda-Lamhetaghat-Bhedaghat road in Sagda on Wednesday.


Addressing the programme, Rakesh Singh informed that the 8.60 km road has been constructed with a budget of Rs 40 crore and it will not need any kind of maintenance till next 25 to 30 years. Reiterating his commitment, Singh informed that soon after being elected as Member of Parliament for the first time, his first commitment was to develop Jabalpur as a tourist hub. He always paid attention on improving air, rail and road connectivity for Jabalpur which resulted in starting new aviation services, extension of Dumna Airport, new trains and developing tourist facilitation services at tourism destinations. Singh added that in order to attract tourists at Bhedaghat, a laser show was started and a Science Centre and Galaxy will be established soon at Bhedaghat with a budget of Rs 16 crore.


Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Dr Swati Godbole expressed gratitude towards MP Rakesh Singh for paving way for
tourist services and infrastructure development in the city. She claimed that development works being carried out in the district by State and Central Government never took place earlier. MLA Tarun Bhanot and Bhedaghat Municipal Council President Shaila Jain also thanked MP Rakesh Singh for materialising development works in the area. After inauguration, senior public representatives visited the newly constructed road towards Bhedaghat and were welcomed by residents on their route. On the occasion, MLA Anchal Sonkar, MLA Pratibha Singh, MLA Ashok Rohani, nominated MLA L B Lobo, Bharatiya Janata Party city president G S Thakur, Sandeep Jain, Rajesh Mishra, Rajnish Yadav, Sant Singh Parihar, Yogendra Rajput, Anju Bhargava and a large number of BJP leaders, workers and eminent residents were present.
