Development only possible by taking along entire society: Governor Patel

Addressing the second governing body meeting of Dr B R Ambedkar Social Science University, Mhow, Governor Anandiben Patel said that development is possible only by moving ahead along with all the sections of the society, including scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and backward classes. The Prime Minister’s slogan of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is the development of all sections and an effort to connect them to the mainstream. Governor Patel said that the Centre and the State Government are working towards upliftment, educational development, skill development and in the field of social justice for the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward classes. Through skill development, the talent of youths from the lower level is being nurtured and job opportunities are being made available to them.

The Governor said that the participation of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes, women and children should be ensured in social justice, economic empowerment and nation building by the Vishwavidyalaya as per the vision of Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Camps should be organised to create awareness in these areas for women empowerment, stopping child marriage, examining health of students, cleanliness campaign and construction of toilets. Governor Patel gave directions to initiate research and projects on topics, including environment, sustainable development, women empowerment, child protection, etc.
During the meeting, detailed information was given by the Vishwavidyalaya about community leadership and sustainable development being undertaken under Chief Minister’s Community Leadership Building Programme. Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education B R Naidu, Principal Secretary to the Governor Dr M Mohan Rao, Principal Secretary Scheduled Caste Welfare S N Mishra and other Vishwavidyalaya officials were present during the meeting. Registrar of the Vishwavidyalaya Dr H S Tripathi presented the agenda.
