Police initiate slew of measures to curb traffic in steel city

TRAFFIC police are initiating measures for diverting vehicular traffic of Sector-10 Sector-6 of zonal market for curbing any possibility of road mishaps at Central Avenue in Bhilai. Satish Thakur, Dy SP (Traffic), Traffic Department, Durg, informed that over the period time there was rise in road mishaps at Central Avenue near Globe Chowk in Bhilai owing to vehicular traffic from zonal market of Sector-10, Bhilai, as the commuters were using wrong side to cross the Globe Chowk. As part of measures traffic police created a fixed point near the intersection for diverting vehicular traffic of the market through the specious lane within the residential area in Sector-10, linking the market place.

He also informed that similarly the vehicular traffic from Sector-6 market also passed through the wrong side and traffic police in coordination with the department concerned of BSP is finalizing the proposal for construction of rotary at Berojgar Chowk and a link road leading from the intersection to Sector-6 market of Bhilai. He also asserted that the traffic police are initiating several such measures for ensuring the safety of commuters in the twin cityand he appealed them to abide by traffic regulation.
