Advocates accuse SBC chief of misusing powers by calling off strike

Advocates remain abstain from court work in High Court and District Court again on April 12, protesting against the State Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh, Chairman, Shivendra Upadhyay for misusing his powers for calling off the week-long strike in between on his personal capacity. The High Court Bar Association also staged protest against the alleged manhandling of advocates by police in Sidhi district. The members have express their ire on the act of imprudence of Shivendra Upadhaya President SBC, who on his personal capacity imposed statewide strike from April 9 to 14 and later without seeking opinion announced to call off the strike.
Besides this the cane charge on Advocates in court premises in Sidhi district aroused resentment amongst the lawyers. A protest rally was also taken out along with demonstration on Thursday. Adarshmuni Trivedi, Chairman Madhya Pradesh High Court Bar Association (MPHCBA) added incident of cane charge by Police on Advocates in Sidhi district inside the court premises have irked the advocates. Protesting against on the call of MPHCBA the Advocates remain abstain from Court work. Among present were Adarsh Muni Trivedi, Shashank Shekhar, Amit Jain, R K Singh Saini, Manish Mishra, Sanjay Soni and others.
