In a daring incident, robbers cut open an ATM cash box of an unguarded kiosk of State Bank of India and fled away with a cash of Rs 4.65 lakh at Danish Nagar under Misrod police station. The cash was stolen by miscreants by breaking into SBI ATM using gas cutter machines on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Misrod police were informed after broken ATM was spotted by locals in the morning on Thursday. Later, bank officials also reached the spot along with cops. ASP Zone-2 Vikas Kumar Shahwal said that the ATM machine of SBI was not deployed with security guard and cash box was removed using gas cutters which could be inferred from the circumstantial evidences. The role of a professional gang is suspected to be involved in the theft.
During the investigation around 2-3 footages of CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas have been obtained and investigation has been started of these footages. Beneficiaries were provided money for constructing toilets under Samagrah Swachh Mission and they were arrested for their involvement in the scam and they recently came out from jail on bail and came up with another fraud. The police registered a case under Section 420 of the IPC and sections 43(A), 66, 66(C) of the IT Act and started investigation.
