Governor Patel inaugurates veterinary expo at NDVSU

Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel was on her maiden visit to Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University (NDVSU) on Thursday. On her visit to Veterinary Science University, Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel was offered red-carpet welcome by Vice-Chancellor, Dr Prayag Dutt Juyal. She later inspected veterinary exhibition organised at the ground of Veterinary University. Main objective of the exhibition was to directly introduce animal rearers and dairy farmers about latest techniques available in the field of animal husbandary so that they would double their income by making best use of integrated agriculture system. Chancellor, Patel visited different stalls installed by different departments of the university and took account of various developments and research works being carried out by these departments.
The animal rearers shown deep interest in the annual calendar of Publicity activities, bovine activities calendar and vermin compost stalls.

Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Madhya Pradesh is engaged in organising veterinary camps at all the villages across the State under Gokul Mahotsava between March 27 and May 10 to provide treatment and medicine facilities.The villagers are also being awared about various Government schemes run by Government. Dr Avinash Shrivastava and Dr Ajay Gupta informed that ID card of bovine animals would be allotted after presenting them unique identification numbers under relevant scheme. Now, dairy farmers can avail treatment facilities for their pets and other animals within 24 hours by dialing toll free no 1962 under Pashu Sanjeevai Seva.
School of Wild Life Forensic and Health is the only recognised laboratory, which collects samples from the weapons use in wild life crime and remains of wild animals and with the help of DNA, it establish their identity and other evidences.

Earlier, a seminar was also organised where the dairy farmers and rearers were informed about various advanced techniques presently available in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary science. During the seminar, noted veterinarians and animal rearers informed about Integrated Agriculture System making use of which, farmers can double their income. Director, Extension Education, Dr Sunil Nayek interacted with farmers and animal rearers to address various problems they are facing while rearing an animal. Dr SNS Parmar, Dr RPS Baghel, Dr Y P Sahani and Dr Sunil Nayek talked in length about animal nutrition, Dr Daanveer Singh Yadav informed about proper care of animals and to save them from different diseases. The seminar was conducted by Dr A K Gaur while vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Ruchi Singh.
