Staff Reporter,

The corridors of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters are abuzz with the discussion on whether present State President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan is going to be replaced by someone else. And if appointment of new state chief is in offing then who is the leader who is going to get the reins of party in election year? Many believes that Public Relations Minister Dr Narottam Mishra is ahead in the race to become next State BJP President. But there is a glitch as name of Home Minister Bhupendra Singh has also started to create ripples in the corridors of power and he is considered to be close to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and also have blessings of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

A few days back, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Nagpur to have a close door discussion with a senior RSS functionary and this visit of CM further fuelled the speculation that party is seriously thinking about appointment of new State chief before elections are announced. The name of even BJP’s General Secretary V D Sharma is also being taken for the coveted post and if consensus is not developed over the name of Bhupendra Singh or Dr Narottam Mishra then in this case, V D Sharma can emerge as a dark horse in race of BJP State President.

Earlier, name of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was doing the rounds for state president post but during the last Bhopal visit, Tomar made it crystal clear that he is not in race of state president post. As the tenure of present BJP State President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan is inching towards end, hence, it is being fathomed that shortly or in near future, ruling party may name its new state president. Even during his last visit to Bhopal, BJP’s National President Amit Shah has given indications about change of guard.
