Hearing on devpt of Dumna airport after two weeks

In the matter related to seeking development of Dumna Airport, during the hearing, Executive Engineer, Municipal Corporation, Jabalpur, Sanjay Pandey was present in person before the division bench of the High Court. The Officer-Incharge of the Municipal Corporation states that the laying of road is in progress, whereas some issues need to be addressed by the Forest Department. Since none was present on behalf of the other respondents, list after two weeks. If there is no representation by the Members of the Bar on behalf of the other respondents, the responsible officers shall remain present in Court on the next date of hearing, the division bench said. The division bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court comprising of Chief Justice, Hemant Gupta and Justice, Anurag Shrivastava has heard the petition filed by Sudhir Chandra Datt against the Union of India and others.

In the previous hearing, Amit Seth, Government Advocate for the respondents, State. As per the status report the contract for Terminal Building has been granted whereas certain other works are in progress, the division bench said.Hearing on November 13, 2017, Advocate Anoop Nair, Counsel appearing for the Airport Authority of India had stated that the matter of grant of contract for the construction of the Airport Building is pending final consideration with the Airport Authority, which is likely to be finalised soon.

Rakesh Tiwari, Counsel appearing for MPPKVV Co Ltd. had stated that undergone cabling of electric wires shall be completed within one month. Anshuman Singh, Counsel appearing for the Corporation had stated that the completion of road will take another two months time. Earlier, counsel appearing for the airport authority of india had stated that the work of laying under-ground cables is likely to be completed in another 45 days. He also states that the work of appointing consultant for designing building shall be completed during this month.
