Boy arrested for stealing Government vehicle

Alert cops succeeded in apprehending a boy red-handed when he was stealing Government vehicle of SDM Ranjhi from Collectorate premises under the jurisdiction of Omti police
station, on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Surya alias Sheelu Maravi (22), son of Rajkumar Maravi (22), a resident of Anand Bhawan near Purana Kanchanpur in Adhartal.

According to police, a man named Lalji Yadav informed at police control room that he is working as driver of Government Bolero Jeep registration number MP-02RD-2016 of SDM, Ranjhi. He reached at collectorate and went for giving water bottle of SDM in his cabin. He returned towards Bolero jeep and found that the vehicle was missing from collectorate premises. He immediately reached at police control room and watched CCTV recording. He found that an unidentified man was driving the bolero passing through Rampur square towards Gwarighat.

Acting promptly on the information, Cheetah 921 started chasing the bolero jeep when it was returning from Big Bazar towards Rampur square and succeeded in stopping the vehicle in front of Rampur sub-police station. Police arrested the accused named Surya alias Sheelu Maravi. Omti police have registered a case against the accused under sections 41(1-4) of CrPC and Section 379 of the IPC. In further investigations, police learnt that the accused was already booked in five crime cases of attack and rampage in Adhartal police station.Superintendent of Police, Kumar Saurabh applauded the active working of policemen and declared cash reward of Rs. 10,000 for them.
