Modi lays foundation stones of various devpt works

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated and laid foundation stones for plethora of development works. During his tenure as Prime Minister, this was his fourth visit to Chhattisgarh and second visit to Bastar region.


The Prime Minister dedicated and laid foundation stones for the first phase of ambitious Bastar Net Project, roads and bridges constructed at a cost of Rs 1,043 crore under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna, a major bridge over River Indravati, a major bridge over River Darbha at Mingachal, Nal-Jal Yojna in Bijapur, 735 kms long roads constructed at a cost of Rs 658 crore and bank branches and ATMs in Bastar divisions.


The Prime Minister also dedicated ‘Sankalp Sthal’, built in memory of Martyrs who laid down their lives fighting Left Wing Extremism.The Prime Minister also handed over the keys of houses built under Prime Minister Housing Scheme to 100 beneficiaries and will distribute residential lease-deeds to 100 beneficiaries. The Prime Minister also dedicated development works worth Rs 150 crore.


Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, there are two initiatives, of which one was launched today by the Prime Minister. The scheme has been aimed at making path breaking interventions to address health holistically, in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems, covering both prevention and health promotion. Under this scheme, 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centres will bring health care system closer to the homes of people. These centres will provide comprehensive health care, including for non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health services. These centres will also provide free essential drugs and diagnostic services.


The Prime Minister said preparations are on for the ambitious  second flagship programme under Ayushman Bharat, which is called National Health Protection Scheme, which will cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) providing coverage upto Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. This will be the world’s largest government funded health care programme. These two health sector initiatives under Ayushman Bharat Programme will build a New India 2022 and ensure enhanced productivity, well being and avert wage loss and impoverishment. These Schemes will also generate lakhs of jobs, particularly for women. The scheme will be launched very soon added the Prime Minister.


The leaders who graced the occasion were Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister of State for Steel Vishnudeo Sai, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal, MP Dinesh Kashyap, Ministers Ajay Chandrakar, Brijmohan Agrawal, Kedar Kashyap, Punnulal Mohle, Prem Prakash Pandey, Rajesh Munat, Ramsheela Sahu, Ramsewak Paikra, Bhaiyyalal Rajwade, Mahesh Gagda, Dayaldas Baghel apart from BJP State President Dharamlal Kaushik and senior party office-bearers.
