Nagpur joins nation in celebrating birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar

All the Government agencies, social and voluntary organisations paid glowing tributes to ‘Bharat Ratna’ Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary on Saturday. A host of organisations garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar at Samvidhan Square and various other locations in the city.


Akhil Bharatiya Dhamma Sena, Lok Janshakti Party, Akhil Bharatiya Mali Mahasangh, Mahatma Phule Shikshan Sanstha, Nagpur City (District) Congress Seva Dal, All India Backward Classes Telecom Employees Sanghatan, Aadim Samvidhan Sanrakshan Samiti, Gram Yuvak Vachanalaya at Awandhi village in Kamptee tehsil, Maharashtra Rajya Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Dalit Mitra Sangh, ‘Dalit Mitra’ award winner Manda Vairagade, Indora Buddha Vihar, Bharatiya Bhrashtachar Nirmoolan Parishad, National Peoples Social Organisation, Param Poojya Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Putala Samiti (Untkhana Square), King Cobra Organisation Youth Force, Ambedkari Vichar Morcha, Vidarbha Patbandhare Karmachari Sahakari Pat Sanstha, Civil Rights Protection Cell, S B M Vikas Seva Sanstha, Samajik Ekatmata Granthalaya, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and a host of other organisations conducted various programmes in Nagpur city and district to mark birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.


NMC
Nanda Jichkar, Mayor; Ashwin Mudgal, Municipal Commissioner; Virendra Kukreja, Chairman of Standing Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC); and Tanaji Wanve, Leader of Opposition in NMC, garlanded the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar in Samvidhan Square. They also garlanded his portrait in NMC’s Civil Lines office. Sanjay Bangale, Chairman of Civil Committee; Dhammapal Meshram, Chairman of Law Committee; Sunil Hiranwar, Ujjwala Sharma, Kishor Jichkar, Nishant Gandhi, all of them corporators; Ravindra Kumbhare, Additional Municipal Commissioner; Ravindra Deotale, Deputy Commissioner; Mahesh Dhamecha, Assistant Commissioner; Sanjay Jaiswal, Executive Engineer (Electrical); Rajan Kale, Superintendent; Ashok Kolhatkar, Pradeep Khardenavis, Dinkar Umredkar, Rajesh Hathibed, Dilip Tandale and others also were present on this occasion.


Divisional Commissionerate
Anoop Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur, paid garlanded the portrait of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at his office. Sanjay Dhiwre, Sudhakar Telang, B S Ghate, all of them Deputy Commissioners; Sunil Nikam, Assistant Commissioner; Varsha Gaurkar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer; Kumudini Hadole, Assistant Director (Accounts), and other officers were present on this occasion.
Sachin Kurve, District Collector, garlanded portrait of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at District Collectorate here. Prakash Patil, Additional Collector; Ravindra Khajanji, Resident Deputy Collector; Subhash Chaudhary, Deputy Collector; Bhagat and others also were present on
the occasion.


City Congress
Nagpur City (District) Congress Committee office-bearers and members led by Vilas Muttemwar, Executive Member of All India Congress Committee; and Vikas Thakre, President of City Congress, paid rich tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Samvidhan Square. Umakant Agnihotri, Vishal Muttemwar, Naresh Gawande, Dr Gajraj Hatewar, Bandopant Tembhurne, Prashant Dhawad, Ramgovind Khobragade, Raman Paigwar, Sanjay Mahakalkar, Prasanna Borkar, Dinesh Banabakode, Prakash Dhage, Mahesh Shriwas, Nitin Sathawane, Saraswati Salame, Deva Usare, Ramesh Punekar, Vivek Nikose, Adv Akshay Samarth, Mama Gawande and others participated in the ‘padyatra’ taken out to mark the occasion of Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. The workers raised slogans praising Dr Ambedkar.


Nationalist Congress Party
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers led by Anil Deshmukh, former Minister; Anil Ahirkar, City President of the party; Dinanath Padole, former MLA; Dilip Pankule, Janba Maske, Pravin Kunte Patil, Prof Devidas Ghode, Milind Manapure, Vishal Khandekar, Nutan Revatkar, Alka Kamble, Shailendra Tiwari, Mahendra Bhange, Hemant Bhotmange, Arvind Dhengre, Suresh Karne, Archana Wau, Urvashi Giradkar, Charanjitsingh Chaudhari, Sanjay Shewale, Rudra Dhakde, Prabhudas Taywade, Nisha Zade and others garlanded the statue of Dr Bababsaheb Ambedkar at Samvidhan Square.


Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti
Param Poojya Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Smarak Samiti organised a programme at Deekshabhoomi to mark 127th birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Bhadant Arya Shurei Sasai and 25 Bhantes presented prayers. Bhadant Arya Shurei Sasai, President of the Samiti; and Sadanand Fulzele, Secretary, both garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar and later offered flowers at Gautam Buddha’s statue. Anand Fulzele, Sudhir Fulzele, N R Sute, Vilas Gajghate, Principal P C Pawar of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College, teachers, and others also participated in the programme and took ‘Panchsheel’. Bhante Nag Ghosh, Nagsen, Naganand, Dhammabodhi, Sheelanand, Mahanag, Bhikshuni Sanghsheela, Sanghpriya, Bodhipriya, Dhammajyoti, Dhammarakshita, Dhammashanti, Videsha, Ravi Mendhe, Rahul Karade, Mahendra Tembhekar, Nanha Sawaithul, Sapan Khobragade, Rameshwar Pane, Atish Shende, Harshal Wasnik, Anish Balekar, Deepak Lokhande, Milind Tembhunekar, Milesh Lokhande, Rahul Wankhede, Jageshwar Ukey, and others were present on this occasion.


BJP Minority Cell
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Cell office-bearers and members paid rich tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. They garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar at Samvidhan Square. Rakesh Gandhi Jain, General Secretary of Nagpur city unit of the Cell; Rajendra Singh Lohiya, Manoj Pande, Dilip Gaur, Father Vijay Done, Arvind Bamborde, Kaka Chandok, Babloo Sheikh, Gurmeet Singh Chandok, Gyasuddin Qazi, and others were present.


Bahujan Samaj Party
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) city and district office-bearers and members garlanded the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Samvidhan Square, and raised slogans in his praise. BSP office along Nari Road also was decorated with blue lights and the workers cut the cake and burst crackers to mark birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar, as well as the party’s foundation day. Suresh Sakhare, State President; Adv Sandeep Tajne, State In-charge; Krishna Bele, Prithviraj Shende, Jitendra Mhaiskar, Mangesh Thakre, Bhau-saheb Gondane, Nagorao Jaykar, Rupesh Bageshwar, Prem Rodekar, Vilas Somkunwar, Prakash Gajbhiye, Jitendra Ghode-swar, Vandana Chandekar, Vaishali Narnaware, Mohd Jamal, Mohd Ibrahim, Mangala Lanjewar, Viranka Bhivgade, Mamata Sahare, Narendra Walde, Sanjay Burrewar and others also were present.


NIT
The 127th birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was celebrated at Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT). Sudhakar Kulmethe, Additional Collector, Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority, garlanded the portrait of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Prashant Bhandarkar, Executive Officer; Sanjay Chimurkar, Executive Engineer; Avinash Badge, Arvind Deshbhratar, Bhupesh Meshram, Rohit Borkar, and others were present on this occasion.


KKSU
Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) organised a special programme to mark birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-Chancellor of KKSU, presided over the programme and Dr Rajendra Naikwade, Professor of Marathi in C P and Berar College, was the chief guest. Dr Arvind Joshi, Registrar; Dr Deepak Meshram, Deputy Registrar also were present. Prof Varakhedi felicitated Dr Naikwade on the occasion. In his speech, Dr Naikwade highlighted Dr Ambedkar’s scholarship reflected in the Constitution of India, his strong will-power to rise above challenges, his contribution to journalism, national thinking, politics, and social movement. Prof Varakhedi said that Dr Ambedkar had stressed upon the importance of Sanskrit language. Hence, he said, KKSU wanted to have a Chair in the name of Dr Ambedkar. Dr Renuka Bokare conducted the proceedings of the programme and Rajendra Meshram proposed a vote of thanks.


Celebrations in Kamptee
Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary was celebrated with enthusiasm in Kamptee. In separate programmes, Krupal Tumane, Member of Parliament from Ramtek, and Adv Sulekha Kumbhare, former Minister of State, garlanded the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. The people took out a bike rally from Dragon Palace Temple. Sandeep Itkelwar, District President of Shiv Sena; Rajan Singh, Raju Polkamwar, Ashish Jain, Vinay Behar, Suraj Bawankule, Pawan Khadse, Ankush Mayand, and others were present in the programme organised by Shiv Sena. In a novel initiative, Bhim Panthers Social Community, Adhorekhit Karmachari Sangh, Hardas Yuva Mandal, and Liberty Competitive Classes joined hands and distributed notebooks to needy students instead of spending money on processions, sound system, bursting of crackers, and installing digital boards. Arju Kamble, Shubham Bawangade, Babloo Ramteke, Abhijit Meshram, Ranjit Warhade, Vineet Nagdeve, Amol Chimankar and others distributed the notebooks to students in a programme held near Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue in Jaistambh Square.
