Two adolescent boys meet watery grave

In a tragic incident, two adolescent boys met their watery grave into a river in village Jamtara under the jurisdiction of Barela police station, on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Devansh Tiwari (16), a resident of Shanti Nagar and Girish Kostha (16), a resident of Bawali area in Garha, students of class 10th at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ganga Nagar, Garha.


SHO of Barela police station, Pratiksha Marco informed that police received information that a group of students reached at the bank of river in Jamtara. Students including Devansh Tiwari, Girish Kostha, Amit Dhurve, Shantanu Garhewal, Rohit Mehra and Manoj Jharia went for visiting Jamtara on two-wheelers. Meanwhile, two of the students named Devansh Tiwari and Girish Kostha entered the river and reached at deeper part of the river. They could not manage to return back and started shouting for help. Other students also shouted for help but failed in getting any assistance.


Learning about the incident, a police team reached the spot and senior officers were informed about the incident. A rescue team of Home Guard Department was called on the spot and a rigorous search was started for the two missing boys. After a rigorous search, team of divers found the bodies of Devansh and Girish. Police sent the bodies for post-mortem after conducting Panchnama at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital.Barela police have registered intimation while further investigations are underway to ascertain reason behind the tragic incident.
