BMC worker commits suicide

A 30-year-old man committed suicide by hanging self from a tree by making noose of wife’s sari at Kanha Kunj under Kolar police station area on Saturday. According to the police, the deceased Pradeep Khare (30), a resident of Kanha Kunj Phase-2 was found hanging from a tree near his home and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. The deceased used to work as cleanliness worker with Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and was heavily addicted to liquor. Police were informed and on the receipt of information, a police team reached the spot and started investigation. During the investigation, police found that deceased left the house after taking saree of his wife. His wife informed deceased’s brother and when the family started to search the deceased, he was found hanging from a tree.


The reason behind the suicide remains unknown and suicide note was not found. The family members are yet to record their statements, which could help in revealing the reason behind the suicide. After the preliminary investigation, the body was sent for the post-mortem and a case under Section 174 of the CrPC was registered. Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 40-year-old man died after he was mowed down by a speeding car near MPPEB Square under Habibganj police station area on Saturday. The injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital after he was hit by a speeding vehicle, but he died during treatment. The deceased was identified as Bharat Singh, 40, son of Sandhu, a resident of Bheem Nagar area.
The body was sent for the post-mortem and a case under Section 304-A of the IPC was registered by police. Police have started further investigation into the matter.
