Preparations for ‘Swachh Bharat Parv’ discussed

A joint meeting of various organisations was on Sunday organised to discuss participation of social, voluntary and business organisations in Swachh Bharat Parva to be organised on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the country, on April 18.Addressing the meeting, Member of Parliament, Rakesh Singh said that he had earlier decided to hold discussion on Swachhata (cleanliness) with opinion makers who represent their organisations and area. And it is a matter of great happiness that Swachh Bharat Parva would be organised on the call of Prime Minister in entire country. He urged representatives of organisations to ensure maximum participation in the programme.MP Singh further said cleanliness is the subject which direly connects with our culture as our ancestors believed that prosperity comes where cleanliness exists. He said by maintaining cleanliness we not only develop ourselves but also help develop entire society. He said developed countries give immense significance to cleanliness.


Singh said India is not lagging behind in science and technology. But it is unfortunate that the country which has the capability to send 105 satellites together in space is still facing the problem like open defecation. He said for the last 70 years no discussion was held on cleanliness in the country. But now PM Modi has shoulder the responsibility of making India a cleanest country.Singh called up the representatives of various organisations to extend full support and make cleanliness a public movement and ensure their maximum participation in Swachh Bharat Parva on April 18. He said people can start cleanliness from temple, road, park or any such public place.Expressing her views on the occasion, Mayor Dr Swati Godbole said though Government and civic bodies are working for cleanliness but there is need of chance in mentality. People have to change their mindset towards cleanliness. She said if we keep our surroundings clean, our city and country would become clean.Amongst those also present on the occasion were Minister of State, Sharad Jain, MLA, Anchal Sonkar, Ashok Rohani, Pratibha Singh, Nandani Maravi, nominated MLA L B Lobo, S K Muddin, and others.
Over 400 representatives of various social, voluntary and trade organisations participated in the meeting.
