Treatment, cure and care of diabetes discussed in Annual Diabetes Update

IN ANNUAL Diabetes Update organised by Jabalpur Endocrine Society witnessed sharing of various information about treatment, cure and preventive care of diabetes on Sunday. In this conference, around 200 doctors related to different streams of medical sciences had participated representing Jabalpur and adjoining areas and learned about recent developments from experts from different centres of the country. The programme commenced with lighting of lamp by chief guest, Dr R S Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU). Special guests Dr Naveen Saxena, Dean of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital and Dr Manoj Parasher graced the occasion.


In the conference, Dr Alok Modi of Mumbai shared his research on effective control of diabetes by using better coordination between doctor and patients and also to strengthen this co-ordination he asked for use of information technology. Dr Sandeep Julka of Indore informed about the reason behind ailment of diabetes among youth and asked that awareness about different reasons could help in controlling impact of diabetes in youth. Addressing the conference, Dr Saurabh Malviya of Indore apprised about complications caused in muscular and joints of body due to diabetes. Dr Akshay Jain of Mumbai apprised about 24 hours effective insulin therapy and its usage. Dr Praveen Kalvit of Mumbai apprised about heart failure and its treatment.


Chief guest of the programme Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU) Vice-Chancellor Professor R S Sharma speaking on the occasion appreciated technical session and its panel organised by the Society. He said through awareness on diabetes and its related ailments caused to patients in different age groups can help cure people in a better way. He hoped that participants of this workshop will surely use knowledge they acquire in providing better treatment to their patients.Dr V K Bharadwaj, Dr Manish Mishra and Dr Vishal Kastwar convened the programme proceedings. Dr Kshitij Bhatnagar, Dr Sushil Kaily, Dr Ramesh Asawa, Dr Ashish Dengra, Dr Mukesh Johri, Dr Neha Sahu extended valuable contribution in organising the event.
