CMRS team conducts final inspection of Metro’s 5.5 km span from Khapri to Airport 

After successful inspection of Nagpur Metro stations and railway track by Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) on Monday, the possibility of ‘joyride’ in Nagpur Metro from next month has increased. Maha Metro is waiting for this moment for almost five to six months.

The two-member team led by Arvind Kumar Jain, Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), Central Circle, Mumbai, conducted the second and final inspection of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project for a span of 5.5 kms from Airport South Metro Rail Station to Butibori.

The team started inspection from Airport South Metro Rail Station and inspected all facilities provided there. The team of two officials, which also included E Srinivasan, Deputy CRS, Southern Circle, Bangalore, first inspected the ticketing system at Airport South Metro Station.

That was followed by inspection of the Station Control Room, Auxiliary Sub Station Room and other similar sites.
The team of officials also talked to the officials and employees posted there and held detailed discussion about the facilities provide there. The team of officials also checked the telecom and signalling system, evacuation system and rescue machinery in case of any emergency, alarm system installed at the station. They also checked the surveillance system installed at the station. The team also conducted similar inspection at the other two Metro Stations of New Airport and Khapri. The officials, accompanied by senior officials from Maha Metro Nagpur, also inspected track and traction system between the three stations. The officials moved on the trolley to check the track between the stations.

After conducting inspection at the three Metro Stations, the team visited the MIHAN Car Depot to check the rolling stock. Senior Maha Metro Nagpur officials including Mahesh Kumar, Director (Project), Sunil Mathur, Director (Rolling Stock and Systems), S Sivamathan, Director (Finance), and Executive Directors Janak Kumar Garg, Devendra Ramtekkar, V K Agrawal were present. GM (Administration) Anil Kokate, CPM (Reach-1) H P Tripathi, Sahay, Patil and other senior officials accompanied the CMRS team during its inspection the whole day.
