NEW DELHI,

DELHI Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal, whose indefinite hunger strike demanding capital punishment to rapists of minor within six months, entered the fourth day on Monday, alleged that officials of Delhi Police were harassing her.

‘‘Arvind Kejriwal sir, DCP, ACP and doctor are harassing me. My ketone level is 2. As you may appreciate, this is nothing. Even yesterday, they fabricated reports. I am at Rajghat and entire police force is forcibly trying to take me away. Sir, I request you to ensure my protection from them,’’ she said. Urging Kejriwal to constitute a proper medical team which should take her parameters, Maliwal said the Delhi Police officials have unofficially informed her that they were getting direct instructions from the PMO to break her fast.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister urged Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to direct Delhi Police not to harass her. “She is fighting for safety of our girls. We all need to support her. I would urge LG and Rajnath Singh ji to direct Delhi police not to harass her. Rather the LG and Rajnath ji should take steps to ensure safety of women,” Kejriwal said reacting to Maliwal’s allegation.

Citing both the cases, Kejriwal who joined Maliwal’s protest here at Rajghat said, “These two incidents have given a message, leave MLA (Kuldeep Singh Senger), if the ‘rapists’ is even a simple worker of the party, then the entire BJP and its leaders will try to save the accused. All the machinery will be used to trouble the victim.”
