Rescue operation carried out post derailment of Katni-Chopan train

The rescue operation carried out in the post derailment of train numbered 51675 Katni-Chopan passenger of Saturday night around 2215 hours in between Salhana-Pipariya Kalan stations on the Katni-Singrauli section of Jabalpur division. The rescue operation carried out amidst befitting coordination proved of immense worth to restore the traffic within 12 hour after the mishap took place. As tops brass of Jabalpur division DRM Dr Manoj Singh, ADRM Anju Mohan Puria along with other senior officer remained at the accident spot overnight to supervise the rescue work in the single line section between Katni-Singrauli.
According to information the restoration of traffic on the single line section within 12 hours duration at the accident spot between Salhana-Pipariya Kalan stations on the Katni-Singrauli section of Jabalpur division has been subjected to wide appreciation. As the mishap occurred around 2215 hours restoration of track during night was daunting task was rescue team who burnt mid night oil to not only to safe ejection of stranded passengers at the outset followed by restoration traffic in the single line section.

Soon after the mishap was reported immediate action was taken by Railway Administration for rescue and relief. Accident Relief Medical Train from New Katni Junction, reached at the site by 1145 hours Accident Relief Train from Jabalpur station was also moved to reach at the site for rescue operation. DRM Jabalpur Dr Manoj Singh, ADRM Anju Mohan Puria along with other senior officers reached the site immediately to take stock of the situation.
Under the high class professional rescue operations carried out around 295 stranded passengers in four coaches were safely taken out and were sent to their respective destinations by road in buses arranged by Railway administration seeking assistance with Katni district administration and local road transport department. Brought a sigh of relief for the railway administration and smiles for the fear stricken passengers who had harrowing experience of derailment.

Having safely ejected and send the passengers to their preferred destination through buses arranged by the railway. The daunting task to restore the traffic at the accident spot got initiated. In the mishap occurred around 300 meter of the track was badly damaged. With single section restoration did not appeared feasible. But with top brass of Jabalpur division who remained overnight at the accident spot to supervise the much needed coordination between various departments entrusted for the task. The damaged track was restored within record time of 12 hour duration. DRM Jabalpur Dr Manoj SIngh when contacted said major incident was averted in view of the fact that only three people that included two passengers and the train guard sustained injuries brought a sigh of relief for us. He said the rescue operation carried out in the post mishap was of perfect coordination and commendable. The support offered by Katni district administration and police proved of substance during the rescue work paved way for re-railing of damaged track in the section. The traffic was restored within 12 hours in the section paved for running of passenger and goods trains.
