Seoni’s Priyanka only player from MP to be selected in nat’l team

Hockey player of Seoni, Priyanka Wankhede has been selected in the women’s hockey team to play at national level. The first match would be played on April 22 at Bengluru. It may be mentioned that hockey is national game of India and Seoni is known as the ‘Nursery of Hockey’. Looking into this State level selection teach arrived in Seoni and selection match was organised. Priyanka Wankhede was the only player selected from entire Madhya Pradesh. Information was provided that total 18 players from all over India would be selected in Bengluru. After the team is selected, the match would be organised to witness the performance.

Priyanka Wankhede informed that presently, hockey is being played on Astro Turf. On this surfave the game is very fast. This technique is been adopted in foreign countries. She said that she began playing hockey in the year 2007. She participated in Senior National Hockey Rancho Prize Money Tournament and Major Dhyanchan Jhansi Tournament and gave her best performance. She is gaining coaching of hockey from Asad Khan, Soheil Pasha and Yavesh Holu. She further informed that to play in Astro Turf one should take proper diet and ensure regular practice. On this occasion, Secretary of State Hockey Association, Lok Bahadur, State Vice President, Vijay Verma, D L Gaur, Treasurer, Lalit Nayak, Rajendra Tomar, Aleem Khan, Ruchika Vankheda, Rasheed Qureshi, Deepak Thakur, Rasheed Qureshi, Javed Nurani, Abu Sama, Ashok Navik, Asif Khan, Riyaz Qureshi, Sami Ulla Khan were present.
