Party will scale new heights under leadership of Rakesh Singh: CM Chouhan

Putting all speculations to rest, high command nominated Member of Parliament from Jabalpur, Rakesh Singh as new President of Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday.

Rakesh Singh succeeds Nandkumar Singh Chouhan. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other BJP leaders congratulated Rakesh Singh for his new responsibility.
It was speculated from morning that BJP will name its new State President around 1 pm and party had not disappointed anyone in this regard. It named Rakesh Singh as its new State President.

Later, newly-appointed State President Rakesh Singh assumed charge of the office in presence of senior party leaders.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised the tenure of outgoing State President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan “Under the leadership of Nandkumar Singh Chouhan, party registered victory in 16 municipal corporations, nine by-elections and Shahdol Lok Sabha by-election. BJP organisation has expanded its wings in the leadership of Nandkumar Singh Chouhan and party will touch new heights of achievements in the leadership of newly-appointed State President Rakesh Singh,” said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

CM showered praise on new party chief Rakesh Singh by mentioning that it is due to hard work of Rakesh Singh that BJP has become invincible in Jabalpur. “It was Rakesh Singh who scripted party’s success in sensitive Assembly seat of Bargi,” he said.
He hoped that under the leadership of Rakesh Singh, party workers will work hard and ensure success to party in upcoming Assembly elections 2018 and Lok Sabha elections 2019.

Handing over the charge to new State President Rakesh Singh, outgoing State President Nandkumar Singh Chouhan said that party will succeed in the guidance of Rakesh Singh. He hoped that Rakesh Singh will be able to live up to the expectations of organisation and workers and party will be able to achieve target of more than 200 seats in coming Assembly elections. The programme was conducted by BJP General Secretary V D Sharma.

After assuming the charge, newly-appointed State President Rakesh Singh thanked party leadership for showing faith in him. He told that Madhya Pradesh BJP is known as best organisation in the country. He urged party workers to get into work mode to ensure success in coming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

He told that BJP is fortunate enough that hard working person like Narendra Modi is leading the Union Government. Likewise, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is dedicated for public service. He told to party workers that work done by government and dedicated cadre is the legacy of party.
On this occasion, former CM Kailash Joshi, former CM Babulal Gaur, BJP State Organisation General Secretary Suhas Bhagat, former Organisation General Secretary Makhan Singh, State General Secretary Manohar Lal Utwal, District President Surendra Nath Singh, Vinod Gotia, MLA Rameshwar Sharma, MP Sampitya Uike, former Mayor Krishna Gaur, Ministers Vishwas Sarang, Sanjay Pathak and Rahul Kothari were also present.
