Ola agrees to resolve issues of cab drivers

THE Ola cab drivers which successfully went on a one day strike under the banner of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) recently, have a reason to cheer as company officials from Bengaluru held a five hour meeting to resolve all issues. A M Iktear Uddin Anik, Head of Law Enforcements and Compliances, Ola Cabs, Bengaluru met Hemant Gadkari, General Secretary of MNS at the Dharampeth office and talked in detail about the various problems being faced by the cab drivers and how they could be resolved.

In the meeting, it was agreed that Ola will take the opportunity to increase the demand and bookings through various marketing activities. It would see that the driver partners get maximum bookings and business. It was discussed that Ola would monitor the driver partner rating given by customer to take necessary feedback. Ola would also put in place a partner care and office walk-in to resolve all the issues of driver partners. Furthermore, at the airport entry parking charges applicable which is not included in the bill or fare would be included by inserting a pop up SMS in customer software about the charges and also request the customer to pay the same to respective toll booth or driver partner. Ola had agreed that areas such as Kamptee, Wanadongri and Mihan are far off and some amount of convenience charges would have to be borne by the customer for drop off to
such location.

The driver partner requested Ola to re-enter the agreement with terminated driver partners. On this, Ola will be considering to re-enter the agreement with partner drivers who do not have criminal cases pending on them or safety related issues as per the company policy. An amount of Rs 5 lakh accidental insurance will be provided to driver partner while on platform by the company. Also, the driver partners have proposed to limit the leasing cabs which will not affect the business of private operator. Ola will work on the same as per the company policy.
