Lt Gen Rana, VSM assumes command of Headquarters Madhya Bharat area

Lieutenant General Rajesh Rana, Vishist Seva Medal (VSM) assumed the command of Headquarters Madhya Bharat Area on April 25, 2018 after having moved on promotion from Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence. The General Officer is an Alumni of Indian Military Academy, College of Defence Management and National Defence College. He was commissioned into Army Ordnance Corps (AOC), which is the materials support organisation of the logistics set up in the Indian Army.

The General officer has had varied experiences of Staff and Command appointments. He was posted as Military observer in Cambodia from May 92 to July 93. He has had an instructional tenure at College of Materials Management (CMM), Jabalpur and staff tenure in Srinagar (J&K). Before assuming Command of Madhya Bharat Area the General officer was posted as Additional Director General Ordnance
Services (Technical Stores) at IHQ of MoD.The General officer was awarded the GOC-in-C commendation in 2009 and the prestigious Vishist Seva Medal (VSM) in Jan 2017. Lt Gen Rana is accompanied by his wife, Sushma Rana who in her capacity as Zonal President, AWWA, Madhya Bharat Area will be keenly participating in all welfare measures linked to Veer Narries, widows and other ladies across Madhya Bharat Area apart from according due priority to ASHA School for Specially abled children and Army Skill Training Centre (ASTC) established for imparting job related skills.
