Bandh was peaceful, no inconvenience to people: Raipur Police

Raipur Police claimed that the bandh passed peacefully everywhere in the city and there was no kind of inconvenience to common people in availing emergency or routine services on roads and institutions. Since morning
there were adequate deployment of police personnel and vigil was maintained by officers.Replying to query, Additional Superintendent of Police, City, Vijay Agrawal denied that there were problems at a few petrol pumps in the city. The officer stated that the protesters reached at a petrol pump in Gudhiyari and were trying to close it. Police party reached and before services could be halted, restored normalcy. Same problem arose in Pandri, but it was tackled in similar way. There was no problem to people in receiving services of hospitals, banks, going to courts and other institutions, the officer said. Regarding the deployment, the Addl. SP told this newspaper that 1000 additional force, 18 AD squads, 100 officers and 20 Gazetted Officers were deployed.
