Professors Association protest for seventh pay

DEMANDING their wages under seventh pay scale, Madhya Pradesh Government College Professors Association staged protest on Monday. All professors, librarians, sports officer and other teaching staff of universities and colleges worked with black ribbon. The Association said that Government should release their salary as per seventh pay scale from January 2016 onwards. They have also submitted memorandum to ministers and bureaucrats for their demand. Professors said Government officials have received the benefits of seventh pay scale from January 2016 but only professors, librarians and sports officers under DHE have not get the same yet. According to Dr Prabhat Pandey, Secretary of the Association, they have started step wise protest regarding the demands. From April 2 to April 15 they will demonstrate in silent way and will be working with black ribbon. From April 16 to 21, gate meeting will be held and from April 23 to 28 professors would stage protest. If Govt fails to address demands, they would boycott working from May 1.
