MP Hockey Boys outshines Hockey Jharkhand 3-2

THE ongoing matches of 8th Junior National Hockey Competition 2018 are witnessing tremendous talents of players. On Sunday, in a match played between Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy and Hockey Gangpur Odisha, the match recorded a score of 3-3 in the girls’ category of Division ‘A’ League matches of the competition being played in the State capital. While in other matches, Hockey Chandigarh defeated Mumbai Hockey Association with 6-0, Hockey Odisha defeated Hockey Haryana with 2-1, Hockey Karnataka defeated Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu by 4-0 and Hockey Jharkhand defeated Uttar Pradesh with 4-0. Hockey Kurga scored 4 by defeating Hockey Bhopal, Sports Authority of India (SAI) defeated Hockey Punjab with 5-2 and Hockey Maharashtra defeated Hockey Uttarakhand with 6-3.


In the trilling matches played under boy’s category, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated Hockey Jharkhand with 3-2. In this match, Jharkhand team’s player Josef Kogri scored the first field goal in 21 minutes, in response, Madhya Pradesh Academy’s player Aniket Varun scored the first goal for the team in 35 minutes and levelled the team with 1-1.
In the 53 minute of the match, Jharkhand’s player Suresh Mahto made the second field goal with a 2-1 lead but Academy player Aniket Varun scored the field goal in the 64 minute to level the team to 2-2. After this, in the last 70 minute of the match, Academy player Amarjit Singh made the winning goal and the team won.


Hockey Odisha defeated Hockey Maharashtra by 6-2, Manipur Hockey beat Mumbai Hockey Association Limited by 6-3, Hockey Chandigarh beat Hockey Bhopal 7-2 and Sports Authority of India beat Hockey Gangpur Odisha with 5-2. While, Steel Plant Sports Board and Hockey Haryana was on tie with 3-3, Hockey Punjab and Uttar Pradesh Hockey 3-3 and Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu and Hockey Himachal teams were also on tie at 3-3. Under the competition, on Monday, Division ‘A’, three matches of girls will be played at Aishbagh Stadium and a match at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium at 7 am. While the boy’s three matches will be played at the Aishbagh Stadium and a match at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium from 3 pm onwards.
