Villagers carry out Kar Seva for Nandiya river at Jamunjhir

Under the River Rejuvenation Campaign, Kar Seva was carried out at Jamunjhir, the origin of river Nandiya. Volunteers engaged in Kar Seva cleaned the well at the origin source. To block water flow from the origin spot, volunteers made a temporary structure so that the origin place can be cleaned properly. The Karseva was inaugurated with traditional worship of Siddha Baba. Those who rendered their contribution in Kar Seva included Mandla district Co-ordinator, Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Rajendra Choudhary, Mandla block co-ordination, Prateek Dubey, advisor CMCLDP, Dr. Gajendra Gupta, Yogesh Parashar, Santosh Yadav, CMCLDP student, Vinod Dhurve, Santosh Dhurve and Ramesh Uike, Nadi Sevak, Shyam Shrivas, Rakesh Dubey, deputy sarpanch, gram panchayat, Malarichak, Ram Kishore Dehariya, Arjun Bhanvare, Jhanak Bhanvare and Ganesh Maravi from village Malari, Maniram Uike, Ashish Vishwakarma, Mathansingh Uike and Sahdev Uike from village Malara, Kamalsingh and Choudhary Maravi from village Katalbodi, president, Mandla Nagar Vikas Prasphutan Samiti, Renu Kachwaha and member Abhishek Janghela.


The Government of Madhya Pradesh has selected one river and nullah from every block of the State under River Rejuvenation Campaign under which MP Jan Abhiyan Parishad has been assigned as nodal agency. Nandiya river has been selected under Mandla block of Mandla district.
River Nandiya originated from Jamunjhir of village Katalbodi and merges into river Banjar, a tributary river of river Narmada. After Kar Seva, a choupal was organised at village Katalbodi. Dr. Gajendra Gupta informed that the volunteers have decided to transform the 16-km-long Nandiya river into a permanent river through Shramdaan. He apprised locals with Year 2018 workplan. Rajendra Choudhary mentioned the campaign of rejuvenating river, an innovative effort for the development of the village.


Prateek Dubey introduced villagers with complete work plan under which broadening and increasing of river’s depth and plantation at the river belt will be carried out.
Santosh Dhurve emphasised over the need to develop the origin spot as a center of rural tourism. Deputy Sarpanch, Malarichak, Ramkishore Daheriya and Yogesh Parashar also addressed the gathering.Under Nandiya River Rejuvenation Campaign 2018, mapping, survey, selection of place for rejuvenation and Udgam Darshan Yatra are already carried out.
