Autism Awareness Day was celebrated with loads of fun, smiles, love and songs. Autism is a neurological disorder which hampers the communication and affects the behavior of a child. ‘Sarthak Sansthan’ is a parents’ group of differently abled children. The programme was dedicated for increasing awareness about ‘Autism’. Parents of these children say they learnt to measure the milestones differently and they appreciate the successes of each milestone. The parent group was also enlightened about various provisions by government for the rehabilitation of these children for bringing them back to the mainstream.

This was followed by a fun filled entertainment programme, presented by the children suffering from Autism. The kids were thrilled when they were served delicious food. It was heartening to see that with just little support, these kids can ensure their own happiness. The programme was very well coordinated by Prasad and conducted by E.V. Murli. The joy this function brought to the kids and their parents was unique experience, to be cherished for a long time.
