Cops book 600 persons for violence during Bharat Bandh

Offences registered at Jaripatka, Sitabuldi, Pachpaoli, Sadar and New Kamptee Police Stations


City police have registered eight cognisable offences and six non-cognisable offences in Jaripatka, Sitabuldi, Pachpaoli, Sadar and New Kamptee police stations for violence during Bharat Bandh called by various Dalit organisations against directives of Supreme Court on SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act.


Jaripatka police have registered four cognisable offences against 30 persons for damaging three buses, a truck and torching tyres on the road.
According to police, an offence was registered against unidentified person for damaging MSRTC’s bus (MH-40/AQ-4387) at Kadbi Square at 2.45 pm.
The case was registered under Section 143, 147, 427 of Indian Penal Code read with sub-section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and section 3 of The Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.


In another case, the police have booked 21 persons for torching tyres on roads and protesting and resorting to ‘rasta roko’ at Indora Square. The accused are identified as Krishna Shankar Khobragade, a resident of Samta Nagar; Ashish Somkuwar, a resident of Barakholi; Akhilesh alias Doma Madhukar Patil, a resident of Indora; Jitendra Ghodeswar, Paresh Jamgale, both residents of Nava Nakasha; Shubham alias Sandip, Bhola Shende, Nanna Savaithul, Mayur Patil, Gaurav Ambade, Bablu Tirpude, Akshay Gajbhiye, Rakesh Tembhurne, Rishabh Meshram, Piyush Kalbandhe, Sandip Tembhurne, Akshay Meshram. These accused have been booked under Sections 143, 147, 149, 341, 294 of IPC read with sub-section 135 of Mumbai Police Act.


The cops have also booked four persons for ransacking a star bus (MH-31/AM-0407) and a NMC’s truck (MH-31/DS-1807) near Indora ground.

Pachapoli police book 150 persons for rally

Pachpaoli police have booked 13 identified and 150 unidentified persons for taking out bike rally without permission from Indora chowk to Kamal chowk. The accused have been booked under Sections 143, 147, 149, 117, 427, 435 and 341 of Indian Penal Code read with Section 4 of Criminal Law Amendment Act and Sub-section 135 of Mumbai Police Act.


The accused are identified as Jitendra Ghodeswar (45) and Bhola Shende (40), both residents of Lashkaribag; Amit Suryawanshi (45), a resident of Laghuvetan colony; Krishna Khobragade (50); Ingale (55); Shubham alias Sandip (19), a resident of Barakholi; Abhishek alias Doma Madhukar Patil, Ashish Somkuwar, Rakesh alias Harish Tembhurne, all residents of Indora; Paresh Jamgale (35), Jivan (35), both residents of Lashkaribagh; Dhammadip Devnand Tempe (26), a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar; Pranay Khandare (23), a resident of Jyoti Nagar and 150 unidentified persons.

Unrly mob booked for violence on residency road

Sadar police have registered a case against unruly mob for ransacking a Star bus, cars and motorcycles on Sadar residency road.
According to police, accused Bhola Shende, a resident of Awale Babu Chowk and others taken out a bike rally on Monday afternoon without permission. They suddenly turned violent and ransacked a Star Bus, cars, motorcycles and shops on Sadar residency road.
The police have registered the case under Sections 143, 147, 336, 117 and 427 of IPC read with sub-section 7 of Criminal Law Amendment Act.
