Police arrest two in Khandelwal murder case

Raipur Police have solved the recent murder case in which a man identified as Rajendra alias Raju Khandelwal was found dead in a pool of blood in front of a chocolate factory in the limits of Mujgahan police station. Police have arrested two persons identified as Tilak Manhare, 36, and Sambodhan Diwakar, 28, residents of Bemetara district. The victim harboured a doubt of illicit relation of the accused Manhare with his second wife. The accused Manhare had taken photograph with the wife of the victim from a close distance some four-five years ago in a marriage function. The accused and the wife used to talk over mobile phone about which the victim came to know and over a month Khandelwal continuously called up Manhare and using abusive language, threatened to kill him. The accused Manhare and Diwakar, who are in-laws to each other, planed to kill Khandelwal.

Taking a house on rent at Dumartarai, the accused Manhare had been living there over a fortnight from the date of incident March 30 and watched the activities of Khandelwal. On that day, they chased Khandelwal on their motorcycle and dashed him with the vehicle while the victim was on morning walk. The accused Diwakar charged the victim with a rod and after that the accused Manhare charged the victim repeatedly with rod and fled. The accused Manhare has confessed to police about the act. After the incident, the police in course of investigation collected CCTV footage and also deployed informers and also asked such accused/suspects who have committed such offence. Police team received tip off that the victim Khandelwal had married twice and a few months ago a dispute occurred between the victim and Manhare over a matter of the second wife. Manhare had been absconding since the day of incident. After caught and interrogated strongly, the accused confessed.
