Amlai police slove theft case at BMS office, arrest two men

Amlai police solved the theft reported at BMS Office, SECL Sohagpur area. Cops arrested two accused of theft and seized 32 chairs from the possession of the two accused. The theft was reported on March 31 by the office-bearer of BMS, Mahendra Pal Singh. According to information from SHO Amlai Arun Pandey, BMS’ Mahendra Pal Singh lodged complaint that on March 25, he left the office after a meeting. Before leaving the office, he locked the store room and office. On March 31 again BMS members gathered for a meeting and were shocked to discover that office furniture comprising of 37 chairs was missing. It was later found that some unidentified thieves broke into the office by breaking the rear window and managed to take away 32 chairs. The chairs were worth Rs 25,000 amd every chair has the mark of BMS.


A case was registered under relevant sections of IPC against the unidentified miscreants. After the complaint was lodged cops started investigations. Informers were pressed into service, on April 2, tip-off was received about the involvement of two thieves, Suraj Suresh Chauhan (27), resident of ward number 3 and Lalla alias Bhawani Bhagwanta Dahiya (47), resident of ward number 1 of Dhanpuri. The two suspects were rounded up and brought to police station for interrogation. They confessed to having targeted the BMS Sohagpur office and managed to take away office chairs. In view of confession police took the two accused to the location and recovered the stolen chairs. The success for the police came to fore in light of directions issued by SDOP Dhanpuri Shivendra SIngh Baghel, who constituted a team headed by SHO Amlai Arun Pandey along with SI Heeralal Mishra, ASI Suryapratap Singh Parihar, Girish Shukla, Rajesh Sharma and others who offered support. The office chair worth Rs 25,000 were recovered and handed over back to BMS office.
