PM to launch Ayushman Bharat Yojna from Bijapur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be dedicating the Ayushman Bharat Yojna for the country from Bijapur on April 14. All necessary preparations have been initiated by the State Government for the same.Giving the said information to the media persons on the backdrop of BJP National President Amit Shah’s visit to Raipur, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said it is likely that the Prime Minister will be launching the ambitious Ayushman Bharat Yojna from Chhattisgarh in Bijapur district. Final schedule is yet to be received from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) but anticipating other communications the state has already initiated preparations for welcoming the Prime Minister.


The Chief Minister further informed that during his proposed visit to Bijapur on April 14, will be dedicating ‘Sankalp Sthal’, built in memory of Martyrs who laid down their lives fighting Left Wing Extremism. The Prime Minister will also handover the keys of houses built under Prime Minister Housing Scheme to 100 beneficiaries and will distribute residential lease-deeds to 100 beneficiaries. It may be recalled the Chhattisgarh has been adjudged numero uno position in the country in implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (gramin) and recently Dhamtari district has been awarded for the same. During his proposed visit to Bijapur, the Prime Minister will also dedicate development works worth Rs150 crore.


Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, two initiatives will be launched. The scheme has been aimed at making path breaking interventions to address health holistically, in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems, covering both prevention and health promotion. Under this scheme, 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centres will bring health care system closer to the homes of people. These centres will provide comprehensive health care, including for non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health services. These centres will also provide free essential drugs and diagnostic services.


The second flagship programme under Ayushman Bharat is National Health Protection Scheme, which will cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) providing coverage upto Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation. This will be the world’s largest government funded health care programme. These two health sector initiatives under Ayushman Bharat Programme will build a New India 2022 and ensure enhanced productivity, well being and avert wage loss and impoverishment. These Schemes will also generate lakhs of jobs, particularly for women.


Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh during interaction with the media-persons also informed that the format of Vikas Yatra will be fixed during the meeting scheduled on April 12 at BJP state HQ in the presence of BJP National Joint General Secretary (Organization) Saudan Singh, BJP State President Dharamlal Kaushik, BJP State In charge Dr Anil Jain and other senior leaders. Through the Vikas Yatra, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh will kick-off election campaign, which is likely to start from May and will be held in two phases. The first phase, which is likely to be held for 35 days, will commence from May and continue till June, while, the second phase is likely to commence from August and continue till September. BJP State President meanwhile has completed the visit to all 90 Assembly segments.
