Cloudy evening brings smile on denizens’ faces

IN a sudden twist to the day-long irritating conditions, Thursday evening made denizens smile since the blazing sun rays were blanketed by a thick cover of clouds. The hot and dull beginning of the day transcended into a pleasant evening with around 10 minutes of sporadic 1 mm rainfall in some places across Raipur city. However, the medium velocity winds accompanied by isolated drizzle brought quite a bit of respite for the state capital although unexpected rains forced two wheeler riders and bicycle users to look for shelters. Trace rainfall was also recorded in Durg and Jagdalpur.
Though there was no dip in the maximum temperature with Wednesday and Thursday recording nearly similar temperature of 39.2 degree Celsius and 39.0 degrees respectively, the local weather turned cool and pleasant in the capital city.

According to Meteorological Center, Raipur an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over North Jharkhand and its bordering areas at height of 1.5 to 3.1 km. Similarly, trough is formed from South Madhya Pradesh to South Central Maharashtra. These systems may result in moderate rainfall or thundershowers at isolated places over South Chhattisgarh on April 6. Dry condition is likely in remaining areas across the state. The Met Center has also issued a warning of high velocity winds accompanied with thundershowers expected at some places in Southern part of Chhattisgarh. Locally, the sky will be partly cloudy with possibility of rain or thundershowers towards evening or night hours with maximum temperature expected around 38 degree Celsius in Raipur on Friday.
