NMC issues notice about extension of earlier deadline

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has extended the deadline for submission of applications for compounding of unauthorised structures in city limits, till October 4. Issuing a notice in this regard, NMC stated that the citizens and developers concerned may submit their applications till 5.45 pm on October 4.

NMC notice stated, the unauthorised developments carried out on or before December 31, 2015 and are in accordance with the use permitted as per the sanctional/final development plan may be declared as compounded structures after payment of development, compounding, infrastructure and premium charges.

The permitted use may be residential/commercial/public-semi public/industrial zone of Nagpur city. The citizens, developers concerned may submit applications regarding compounding of unauthorised structures from April 5 to October 4 in prescribed format and along with certified copies of all relevant documents as mentioned on, the official website of NMC.

The citizens, developers concerned may submit their compounding structure applications in the prescribed format through architect/licensed engineer/surveyor, along with relevant documents and non-refundable scrutiny fee of Re 1/- per sq ft up to 2,500 sq ft and Rs 2/- per sq ft for construction area above 2,500 sq ft. Such applications should be attached with four copies of maps with applicant, architect/licenced engineer/surveyor’s signature at the office of NMC, Town Planning Department, third floor, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Administrative Building, Civil Lines.

Applications not received in the prescribed format along with all relevant documents ‘will be rejected’, stated NMC notice. Also, the applications received after 5.45 pm on October 4 will not be entertained, it added. State Government has sanctioned the revised Development Plan of Nagpur city vide a notification of Urban Development Department dated January 7, 2000. The sanction was granted under the provisions of Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966. The said revised plan came into force from March 1, 2000.

The excluded part of Development Plan was sanctioned vide Government notification dated September 10, 2001 and came into force from September 21, 2001. NMC was declared as Planning Authority for Nagpur city except areas covered under some schemes. Later, the Government framed Maharashtra Town Planning (Compounded Structures) Rules, 2017.
