Minor boys started stealing to make money and meet their needs for addiction


IN A major breakthrough, Ranjhi police nabbed four children involved in five theft cases and recovered stolen jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh from them.


Minor boys started stealing to make money and meet their needs for addiction. Addressing a press conference, Officiating Superintendent of Police Kumar Saurabh informed that a police team under supervision of Additional SP (North), Rajesh Tiwari and CSP, Ranjhi, Akhil Verma started a special campaign against anti-social elements. During the campaign, a police team led by SHO of Ranjhi police station Madhur Pateria comprising Sub-Inspector Satish Jharia, N S Tekam, Head Constable, Rajesh Mishra, Constables, Virendra Patel, Prem Narayan and Dheerendra Tiwari received information about some notorious boys involved in addiction and meeting their financial requirements by stealing commodities.


Acting on the tip-off, police team started search and succeeded in apprehending suspected boys. In a rigorous questioning, the boys confessed to the crime revealed five theft incidents. On their identification, police have recovered stolen jewellery, including a gold chain, a gold earring, three gold tops and silver jewellery, worth Rs 2 lakh from them. Police presented the children before court who were sent to juvenile home.
