A meeting headed by DIG Dharmendra Choudhary to discuss security arrangement on April 10 and festival on April 14 with employee and officials of DSB, CCTV surveillance, WhatsApp monitoring and city control room was held at police control room on Saturday. DIG Choudhary instructed to communicate with all sections and during discussions informed of any assembly or protest is received senior officials should be immediately informed.

He said that the DSB employees and officials have been divided into four zones in which one SI and two constables would work under ASP and vigil the activities in the zone and keep record of their work and report the sane to the in-charge and the work would be reviewed by the senior officials. The DSB employees and officials would co-ordinate with the employees involved in collecting information of admin of WhatsApp group and other information and would discuss with these employees and would join the group and keep an eye on different posts over WhatsApp. The employees and officials of CCTV surveillance should keep an eye on suspicious persons at crowded places, busy markets, processions, protest and should inform control room with immediate effect in any situation which could lead to disturbing law and order.


Action would be taken under Section 188 of the IPC against those who would circulate and post provoking content over social media. A WhatsApp monitoring cell was formed on September 1, 2017, which has kept an eye over social media. After the formation of the cell 6 cases have been registered against accused and more than two dozen have been issued with notices.
